I passed my test 1st time yesterday after having lessons with John. He is a great instructor, who helped me to build confidence in my own ability. Like Hannah I had taken lessons previously with a different instructor and given up due to a lack of confidence. John teaches in a relaxed style that helped to make me feel more comfortable whilst driving as I was able to have a chat with him during lessons. He also put up with the ridiculous nonsense I talk about which made lessons more fun! John gives praise where its due which helps a huge amount in building confidence and he is happy to tailor lessons to what you want to do. At first I started off saying 'I hate driving' but now I really enjoy it and feel happy behind the wheel! I would recommend John to anyone who is looking for a driving instructor around the Keighley area, the car is lovely to drive and he is a great instructor. Thank you John! :)

I couldn’t agree more with the other reviews. John is a fantastic driving instructor who has helped me tremendously. I had undertaken lessons previously but always gave up through lack of confidence. John was brilliant as he could see instantly that I had the ability, just not the confidence. His style of teaching cannot fail to give you the tools you need to be a safe and good driver. When you learn to drive, you need a teacher that is not only going to help you pass your test but how to cope with the big bad roads when you’re all alone. John certainly does this, with great passion. If something is missing he will help you gain it, tell you alternatives of how to do it. Now john is very experienced as he was born ages and ages ago, this is a great factor when you’re alone and he’ll just say be very cautious on this next bend, its the little things that make the big things happen. The lesson prices are one of the cheapest around, and you get more than you pay for, this little guy helps as much as he can where he can. To top it all off, if you’re wanting to pass your test in a month, a year, Johnny boy can help, with his flexible hours and great drive for teaching, he can accommodate to any one persons needs, i would recommend that you call john first :) Danny

Did my first long drive as a new car owner and driver today, after passing my test last week. 2hr trip across country roads, motorways and main roads. Trip was no hassle thanks to the training I received from John at Thwaites Driver Training. John not only teaches what you need to pass the test, he teaches you to be a good driver and has a wealth of knowledge from years of driving experience. If you live in the Keighley area and are looking for a driving instructor who is reliable, knowledgeable, patient and will help you develop your driving skills, I recommend you give John a call.

I would highly recommend Thwaites Driver Training. John is a very competent driving instructor who is patient and well organised. I started my first lesson with no idea how to drive, however quickly progressed to driving competently and confidently under John's instruction, passing my driving test first time. John's lessons are well structured and each one was well tailored to my skill level allowing me to progress quickly. John's prices are very competitive; the best I could find in the area in fact. So if you're looking for a driving instructor John is an excellent choice.

As with most beginners I didn’t know what I was doing at first, but as John is an easy going guy he broke each stage down for me and made me feel more confident in what i was doing. Once I was comfortable in what I was doing I found myself picking up the driving skills very quickly. As I was coming closer to my practical test John decided he was getting a new car... which in the end up helped me even more because you are able to see more of what’s around you in the new car. I passed first time with the help from John :) - In my opinion he’s a very good instructor, someone who you will find easy to get along with and very patient when developing your driving skills. I also enjoyed myself whilst learning with John, despite the difficult bits - but that’s all part of learning to drive!

I had a few lessons before I met John through my friend, but I was not confident at all with my driving and hadn’t even done my theory test. When I started doing lessons, John made me feel much more confident, so I put in for my theory, and I passed it first time.
I had a few more lessons and then john said I was ready for my test. Again I wasn’t confident but John helped me, and today I passed first time,
John also helped my mate, who also passed first time thanks to John.

When I started driving with John I had already taken quite a lot of lessons. John motivated me to book a driving test and encouraged me to work towards the date I had booked. He improved my basic driving skills and taught me new techniques which I found very useful. John made driving fun and relaxing and I would recommend him to anyone!

I had around 30 hours of lessons over 6 months. I found John a very patient man as I had a lot of lessons on basic control and he was understanding that everyone progresses at different speeds. He is also a flexible teacher with times as he fit my lessons around my working hours. His car is always clean and well maintained as John has previously worked as a car mechanic. Although John always had a lesson plan for me, on occasion he was happy to alter the lesson to work on any driving weaknesses i had. I passed first time and I have since recommended John to my friends and also my younger brother, who has just started his driving lessons with John.

I was a complete beginner when I began lessons with John and was not even aware of which pedal was which, yet he has now guided me through all the way to passing my test. John was patient and extremely supportive while I was learning and he made each lesson challenging which was great. John started teaching me as a beginner and always really encouraged me with my lessons and the study for the theory test. I liked John’s down to earth way of explaining things which taught me that a lot of driving is down to common sense.
