Since September 2009, the multiple choice section of the test has included a “case study” to assess candidates' understanding of driving theory, while the remaining multiple choice questions assess their knowledge of the subject.
The case study takes the form of a scenario, based on an everyday driving situation, about which five questions will be asked. Candidates will answer the questions in the same way as they do now, using either the touch screen or mouse.
You will still have 50 questions and the pass mark is still 43, but you now get 45 normal multiple choice questions, while the other 5 will account for the case study.
